Defending Dr. Laura

Apparently the lefties in town don't like Dr. Laura. I'm not sure if it's their love for abortion, their affinity for promiscuity, their deep rooted hate for their own children, or a combination of the three, but it's there. What sane person would be surprised that The Average Man and his cohorts would take the opportunity of an unfounded news story to put Dr. Laura to the screws? I thought it was innocent until proven guilty in this country, but not in their world. Not unless we're talking about Bill Clinton getting orally stimulated in the oval office or some democrat stuffing classified documents down his pants. They hate Dr. Laura for the same reason they love Whoopi Goldberg. They are attracted to filth.

Now I'm no angel, and I'm not wearing a sign around my neck that says I'm a perfect person, but I know the difference between wrong and right, good and evil. Dr. Laura, while she may appear hypocritical considering her history, is by all accounts a good person. So she sounds mean when she's biting off a caller's head for asking if it's okay to leave her nine year old kid unsupervised while she goes shopping for new shoes, but the gist of her program is that we should all "go do the right thing." What's wrong with that, you ask? I don't know, ask my local lefties. They're blasting a lady who preaches monogamy. They slam a girl who believes that a Mother's direct care for their infant is better than a day care provider. I think that they think that Dr. Laura thinks she is infallible, but I never saw her wear the Pope's hat. Because she let some guy take some nudies of her twenty years ago she's not fit to preach ethics. I'm not going to begrudge them their choice of porn. So the pictures weren't the most attractive things I've seen on the internet, I agree. But just because she stripped for the camera she's the biggest hypocrite alive? Give me a break. At least they were, well, artsy.

So it all boils down to this: the left loves their porn, just as long as it's not Dr. Laura in the latest issue of Hustler. It's a hypocrite calling someone else a hypocrite. How shocking. Here's a piece of advice for The Average Man, Trekking Left, Lie_Machine, and even George: in the afternoons from three until six, don't listen to AM 1490. It's really that easy! And even though you all despise the News-Press (but still read it all the time), just don't look for her column when she returns. You don't have to listen and you don't have to read it.

The Irrelevant's Last Headline (we hope)

The self appointed "face of the anti-war movement" has quit. Boo hoo.

So shocking that Cindy Sheehan has decided that the toll that all that annoying whining on TV and radio has taken on her body and mind is just too much. Forget about the fact that she is one of the most irrelevant people to ever appear on the airwaves. Forget about her anti-American spewing ugly mug glaring at us through Bill Maher's monitor. Forget about the fact that she self-glossed herself as the personification of a major segment of our American society (allegedly). Forget about her entirely, if you can. I know I am going to try to banish the memory of this nasally whiner from my memory forever, but I do fear that we have not seen the last of her. Some folks just can't stay away from the spotlight, however undeserved that light may be. For now I'll revel in the fact that tomorrow when I refresh Drudge she won't be there. God please don't let her be there...

They're Waiting...

for the next attack on our soil so they can point the finger at our President. I almost think they want it to happen so they have one more thing to complain about while our man is in office. What does that say about them, that they probably wish something bad would happen to Americans so they can rag on George Bush for another perceived misstep? I wonder, will these people ever give the President credit for anything? Six years, no terrorist attacks, a healthy push to quell any threats from the bad guys, and all they can say is they think the Patriot Act is unconstitutional. It's a disorder people, a disorder. I've spent so much time over thepast seven years defending George Bush I almost want to see what could happen with their candidate in office. It's a scary thought to me, but man I'm sick of playing defense against these people.

Yankees Win!!! Duuuuuuuuuuuuhhhh...... Yankees Win!!!

So happy the Yanks were able to take a series from the Bosux. Maybe the bats will stay alive in the coming games. The pitching is finally in place and when the Rocket arrives it only gets stronger. Nine and a half back but plenty to play. I like our chances.

Counterculture

Who knew that in a post 9/11 age we still have people that do not perceive the nature of the threat that the bad guys pose to us? Not six years after my generation's Pearl Harbor, the majority of the people in Santa Barbara side with the nutjobs who march down State Street on the weekends toting signs calling our President a Hitler. I understand why they may feel the way they do. This little paradise of ours is an enclave. Why would the medievalists want to attack Santa Barbara? We're safe here, right? We looooooove everyone; we need to try to understaaaaaand the Islamic extremists. I say WRONG. From the war on terror to global warming, universal health care to preservation of open spaces, campaign finance to the Granada Garage, it's all going to be fair game here. I want to let other conservatives know that we do have a voice in this city and in this county, and you can be heard here. We may be the counterculture in this town, but we do not have to be silent. And of course I encourage the detractors to post their comments and arguments. I will not filter you unless you say something completely offensive. I only started this blog because I myself was filtered by more than one of the mentally ill liberal bloggers, and it angered me to the point that I decided to give my side a say. Free speech is the heart of our being, and it will not be deflowered here.

First Effort

After several bloguments with unlike-minded liberals who blog from our fair city I've decided to anoint myself the voice of the conservative minority here. Should any of my fellow conservatives wish to be a part of this small movement against the mentally deranged liberals that believe they run this city and county just contact me here.
